...is an ideal home base for your exploration of Northeastern Arizona.
The Heward House, a 1930's Art Deco, was totally renovated in 1998 and is located on a mesa overlooking the town of Holbrook and Old Route 66. Whether your interest is the Old West, Route 66, the Triassic Period and the Petrified Forest National Park, or Indian Country, you will find that the Heward House will not only supply your needs but also make you feel at home!
Relax on one of our balconies or patios and bask in the brilliant hues of our spectacular Arizona sunsets or spend an evening stargazing from the private Jacuzzi garden and then warm yourself by the outside fireplace.
A variety of spacious guest rooms, all with private baths and queen size beds, are uniquely decorated with a mixture of traditional and contemporary furnishing and art. Paintings and pottery by area artists resonate with local color and style of the Southwest.
Before your daily excursions begin, enjoy a bountiful breakfast in our dining room or on our Mexican tiled patio with fireplace and fountain. Enjoy our before dinner hors d'oeuvres, then dine at one of our local colorful restaurants and enjoy a light dessert upon your return.
From the living room relax and enjoy a panoramic view of the distant White Mountains and even watch the trains go by in the distance.
The Route 66 Game Room features a pool table, dartboard, and an assortment of paperback books for your enjoyment.
Holbrook is located ninety miles east of Flagstaff and forty miles northwest of Show Low at the hub of Northern Arizona Tourism. Using Holbrook as your base, enjoy a variety of attractions surrounding Holbrook.
If your interest is in Southwest culture, you will enjoy the Southwest decor at the Heward House. The Blansett family has been in the trading post business for years and the house is adorned with Southwest art that includes an immense collection of Hopi Kachina dolls, antique Navajo rugs, baskets, and pottery.
