Breakfast is served in the Parlor Room from 8 to 10 a.m. We have a full time chef who prepares a different entree everyday. Along with the entree is a fresh baked product such as a muffin, freshly squeezed orange or apple juice, seasonal fresh fruit, coffee, tea, milk. All of our food is hand served at your table on fine china, silver, crystal and lace. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and a vegetable tray with dip are served in the dining room each evening from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Beverages served are Monterey County white and red wines, Martinelli's Sparkling Cider and water. | There are ground floor and 2nd floor sitting rooms in which you can relax and enjoy the view. These are available 24 hours a day. To maintain the peace and quiet at the Inn, the hot tub hours are from 3 to 10 p.m. We are happy to provide bathrobes and towels for spa use. Enjoy our 1917 nickelodeon, 1890 White Oak pool table and antique 1930's Jennings dime slot machine in our Game Room. Our library is full of interesting and informative material such as restaurant menus, awards presented to the Inn, over 1,000 books, current magazines and portfolios of pictures of the Inn's restoration, special events held here, the car collection and racing photos. You can play checkers, sit and read, lounge by the fireplace or just people watch. Our entry has brochures and local publications for you to review and has coffee, tea and hot chocolate from early morning until 9 pm. Afternoon snacks are also presented in the entry area. |

The Martine Inn has six meeting and conference rooms and is ideal for your small meetings whether a board meeting or sales meeting, a planning meeting or a staff meeting, a budget meeting or a training meeting ... executive or staff meeting. We have the right size meeting room for you. Our Martine Inn Meeting Director of Events will see to your every need: room layout; audio visual equipment; DSL; WiFi; and personal attention that may be missing with larger meeting venues. Food for your meetings may include breakfast, snacks, luncheons, receptions, dinners, banquets ... all cuisine prepared from fresh ingredients - to your exact specifications by our long-time chef. Don Martine has been interested in cars since he was three years of age. A picture of him with a grease gun, attempting to lubricate his pedal car (age three) is in the display area at his Martine Inn - An elegant Bed & Breakfast that overlooks the magnificent Monterey Bay. Don's interest in MGs began in 1950 when his father, Homer Martine, purchased a 1949 MGTC. This interest was furthered when he watched Johnny Von Neumann drive his 1950 MGTD Special to victory at the inaugural Pebble Beach Road Races … a car that Don now owns and has on display. The MG display area contains watercolors by Sandra Leitzinger, oil paintings by Peter Hearsey, posters, prints, photos, tools, signs, gas pumps, historic helmets, paraphernalia and checkered flag black and white-tiled floor. Don has a restoration shop near the inn where he restores these cars and builds the race engines for the race cars. |
A meal at the Martine Inn is presented on fine 1800's style porcelain, Victorian and Old Sheffield Silver tableware sets, lace and Lancaster Rose sterling silver flatware introduced by Gorham in 1896. You may find yourself eating with an ice cream fork, berry fork, fruit knife, fish fork, or asparagus tongs, depending on the menu you choose. Service includes warm spoons presented from 1880's Victorian silver spoon warmers. A historical explanation on the use of silver in the 1800's will be presented if desired. Eating at the Martine Inn recreates the style and elegance of fine dining experienced by the very wealthy in the late 1800's. Our recipes and menus are prepared from the old 1880's "White House" cookbooks and reformulated to meet our current tastes. Monterey County's finest wines are selected to complement the food with the wines themselves frequently included in the recipe. Particular attention is paid to the balance of flavors in the courses and the wine's contribution to that balance. Our food is prepared by Chef Ismael Diaz Vizcaya, formerly of Harvey's Lake Tahoe. He has created fine entrees for our guests for over 13 years. Ismael has a unique talent for creating subtle flavors with artistic presentation and effective use of color to produce both visual and taste delight. We can produce these Victorian meals from 5 courses for lunch with 2 wines and 1 champagne up to 12 courses dinners that duplicate the State dinners in the 1880's including 10 different wines and 2 different champagnes. Each luncheon and dinner is individually designed to meet your particular needs. Luncheons typically take 1½ to 2 hours and dinner can take up to 4 hours. Our Victorian dinners are for groups of 20 or more and must be scheduled at least 1 week in advance. We are sorry, but our city permit does not allow us to serve individuals, only groups. |
