Four generations of Smith descendants have lived in this home since 1868, including the innkeepers Karl (great-grandson) and his wife Linda.

Muscatine is located 20 miles west of Quad Cities along the Mississippi River. The Inn is conveniently located just off of the 61 by-pass, close to shopping, restaurants, churches, and businesses. So whether relaxing and unwinding, or preparing for a business meeting, you will find the perfect niche with delightful memories in the making.

History of Strawberry Farm...

Lush strawberries once grew on the 4.5 acres surrounding the house. It was indeed a real strawberry farm from 1868 until 1955. The beginning house was built in the 1850's. A major exterior renovation took place in 1880. There has been very little exterior change since that time.

Muscatine offers many kinds of entertainment. At your request, we will happily make recommendations and reservations for you.

Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast offers guests comfortable accommodations with excellent, unobtrusive service.

Guests can enjoy conversation and tea in the formal front parlor, snuggle up with a good book, or watch television or a movie in the comfy room, or dream a quiet dream in the hammock on the screen porch. A walk about the property may even produce a deer family, interesting birds, or other wildlife. In the summer flowers of the past bloom about the yard and a vegetable garden grows near the back fence.

Make yourself at home in the dining room, living room, and screened porch, or retire to the privacy of your own room.

The interior of the home has been completely renovated and tastefully decorated with family heirlooms and period antiques. Each room is a delightful blend of charm and elegance. The three bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated with the guests needs and comforts in mind. Antiques, overstuffed chairs, writing tables and wonderful beds become your haven at Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast.

Served until 11:00 a.m. in the dining room or in your bedroom (with prior arrangement), the full breakfast is always a healthy mixture of fresh fruit, homemade baked goods and a hot entree. Because we know that everyone's tastes are not the same, we offer several daily menu suggestions from which to choose. Of course, you can always have fresh coffee or tea, milk and juice to start your day.
