Introduction
The Blue Heron Inn is located on the banks of the South Fork of the Snake River, featuring spectacular country views, with old-fashioned hospitality. Centrally located to many area activities, the Blue Heron Inn is the perfect destination for honeymooners and sight-seeing travelers.
We host intimate weddings, business retreats, and family/group gatherings. We also provide fly-fishing, snowmobiling and a variety of other packages.
The main lodge of the Blue Heron Inn has 5100 square feet of living space. It contains six bedrooms, each with a private bath. Some bedrooms include fireplaces, jetted tubs, and private balconies.
The amenities of the Inn include: a small library on the second floor with a wide assortment of books, including fiction and non-fiction; a game area with numerous board and card games; a beautiful regulation pool table and small fitness center located in the Inn's daylight basement; a commercial kitchen, which allows the innkeepers to cater special events, such as business meetings and small receptions; and a Great Room with inviting floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace.
The Blue Heron Inn is built on 3.5 acres of prime river front property, offering beautiful views of the area. The South Fork winds throughout Eastern Idaho and is home to native cut-throat, rainbow and brown trout as well as other varieties of fish. The Snake River also offers white water rafting, fly fishing, float trips and canoeing.
Guests enjoy a delicious gourmet breakfast in the sunny dining room. The Blue Heron Inn provides homemade entrees, including specialties like quiche, stuffed French toast, omelets, frittatas and more. Try the homemade cookies in the cookie jar!
The goal of the Blue Heron is to make guests feel so welcome that they think they are staying at the home of a friend. Guests are welcomed at the door by name and given a personal tour of the Inn as they check in. A refrigerator in the dining room has a variety of cold drinks for guests including sodas, juice, wine, and beer. Hot drinks such as hot chocolate, spiced cider and coffee are also offered. Drinks are available 24 hours a day. An evening social with appetizers gives guests a chance to talk with the Innkeepers and the other guests.

Area Activities
Eastern Idaho is not only the gateway to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, but it is also the center of unending recreational activities.
The South Fork of the Snake River is a blue ribbon trout river, world renowned for its fighting native cutthroat trout. Fly fishing in the area is outstanding, especially when guests float the river in McKenzie River boats. The Inn is supported by a number of very reputable and qualified river guide companies.
Float trips can be arranged on the South Fork, the North Fork of the Snake, the Teton, or Wyoming rivers. Floats last the entire day and include lunch.
If you prefer, the river behind the Inn is open to fishing year round. Local residents, as well as Inn guests, take advantage of sunny days to try their luck at catching cutthroat, browns, or rainbows in the clear, cold water.
The Innkeepers can arrange for fishing equipment, if you forgot yours, or even fly fishing lessons, if you want to learn from a pro. Cross country skiing provides an invigorating Idaho adventure during the winter months. There are groomed trails near the Inn.
