The historic Commodore Joshua Barney House, a gated estate, in the old mill town of SAVAGE, Maryland sits on 6+ exquisitely landscaped acres backing to the Little Patuxent River.

Conveniently located between WASHINGTON, DC and BALTIMORE, Historic ANNAPOLIS and the CHESAPEAKE BAY are about 22 miles to the southeast. BWI airport, ELLICOTT CITY, COLUMBIA, LAUREL, and FT. MEADE are only a short 5 - 15 minute ride.

COLLEGE PARK (University of Maryland), Beltsville , Greenbelt and Silver Spring can be reached in twenty minutes or less.

Both the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) and the Washington Beltway (I-495) are within 15 minutes of the Joshua Barney House. History surrounds us!

The Inn is beautiful, peaceful and very private yet, nearby, you'll find hundreds of RESTAURANTS (trendy, ethnic, traditional, elegant or simple fare) and, of course, famous Maryland crab cakes!

The historic part of the home is for the enjoyment, comfort and exclusive use of our guests. If it is your pleasure, privacy and anonymity are easy here. Relax by the fire in deep leather wing chairs, play a game of chess, watch a movie, choose a book from the hundreds in the library or enjoy the fresh air on the covered porch. The historic house features a very large living room (off the foyer) which will be open later this year. This room has the original wood floors, 6 huge windows and a fireplace. The owner is in residence in a private wing of the new addition.

The Commodore Joshua Barney House is a perfect spot for corporate retreats or business meetings.
