Our rooms are decorated Victorian style and include scented candles for romantic atmosphere. Each room has a king-size bed and has AC. The Master Bedroom has a four posted Rice bed and faces south with three large windows (one is a large bay window with antique leaded glass). It gets incredible sunlight in mid morning. The back bedroom, the Hunter Room, faces east and south and looks out to the backyard and playground. It is very private and has a great sunrise view and early and mid morning sun. Relax in our jetted tub in the shared bath after a day in town or on the water. The library/living room and kitchen have full cable TV. We offer off street parking for your convenience. Kids and pets can romp in the large enclosed back yard shaded by the huge Chestnut tree. Adjoining the yard is a playground (also enclosed) with a soccer field, softball field, basketball court and two tennis courts. Leave your pets at the Inn if you like. We'll take care of them for you.

Newport, the "City by the Sea" in the Ocean State is "America's First Resort". It is the best destination in New England for sailing, sightseeing, music concerts, mansion tours, biking and tennis lovers.
Aquidneck Island is made up of Newport at the southern end, with Narragansett Bay on the west and jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean, Middletown with its Colonial farms and Portsmouth, with its equestrian element, at the northern end.

The "Famous 400" millionaires built their incredible "summer cottages" in Newport. Tours of these mansions are the #1 tourist attraction in Rhode Island. Thousands of boat owners sail and power to Newport harbor each summer to cruise the waters of Narragansett Bay and venture out into the Atlantic Ocean.

Our 11 beaches please those desiring to swim, surf, Jet Ski or fish for Bluefish or Striped Bass. Off shore are the Atlantic White Marlin, Black fish, Giant Blue fin Tuna, Hammerhead, Mako and Great White Shark to test rod and reel. The International Tennis Hall of Fame is located on fabled Bellevue Ave., home of the millionaires like Astors, Vanderbilts and Belmonts.

The world famous Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals play to thousands at Fort Adams State Park, right on the ocean, in August. The Classical Music Festival, during June and July, attracts musicians from around the world to give concerts in majestic mansions.

After sunset, Newport's famed pulsating nightlife, with live music and dancing inside and outside, takes place in dozens of nightclubs, bistros and bars on the waterfront and beyond. Exquisite dining can be found in the hundreds of restaurants with world class chefs along with traditional fare in the pubs for the culinary minded. Dress is always casual.

Picnic, bike, fly a kite or just enjoy the panoramic ocean vistas as you meander along the 10 mile Ocean Drive at the southern most tip of Newport. Next stop over the horizon, France! Take part in the week long party before the starts of the Trans Atlantic, Single Handed Around the World or the famous Newport to Bermuda sailboat races during summer.

Newport is known for its multitude of diverse types of trees thanks to the "Famous 400" and others who imported them from all points of the compass. Autumn is a blaze of color. The 30 Days of Christmas features an event or concert a day (usually in a mansion) culminating with a festive First Night on New Year's Eve down on the waterfront. Our Winter Festival takes place in February and includes such favorites as the Chili Cook off, Irish Coffee Contest, dog sled races around Ocean drive and Oldies Weekend with Beatlemania (You'll think, "Are they back together?").

So come and do as much as you want or just sit on a bench at the pier near the house and count the sailboats go under the Newport Bridge.
