Introduction
Originally built in 1924, as a horse and dairy barn, THE BARN B&B still has its original "barn" look. Furnishings from the early 1900's: Some family heirlooms and other pieces from local farm auctions. This and other area barns have colorful histories of the days of barn dances and "boot legging" corn whiskey.
Located on the Lewis and Clark Trail, midway on South Dakota's "Native American Scenic Byway", THE BARN B&B offers down home hospitality and information to help plan day trips to area attractions.

THE BARN B&B is your place to get away from it all!
Stroll or bicycle down country lanes, observing adjacent field of grain, or cattle peacefully grazing. A wide variety of wild life activity is just around the corner. Mulberries and wild plums are there just for your picking. On a hot summer afternoon you may want to:
Take a dip in the horse tank.
Play fetch with Toby, the farm dog.
Get acquainted with Beufred, the miniature horse or LeRoy, the miniature donkey.
Relax on the porch swing and watch the clouds float by.
Geddes, almost a ghost town, abounds with history. Fifth generation descendants of early settlers from Bohemia, Germany, Norway and Sweden, still grasping onto their heritage, are making their living off the land. Every morning, the old timers gather at the local feed store to discuss last night's high school ball game or the lack of rain.
These Missouri River hills and the rolling prairie are the heart of some of the best hunting, fishing, and river recreation areas along the Lewis and Clark Trail. Scenic roads mark where Lewis and Clark's expedition traveled in the year 1804. The area is ideal for bird watchers, hiking, camping, a picnic, swimming, or fishing.
Experience rural South Dakota. THE BARN offers access to many area attractions.

Our B & B is in the hayloft of Great Grandpa's barn. Lawrence Welk's polka band provided some of the music for barn dances held in this and other area barns, back in the 1930's. The loft has a private entrance and four rooms, each with a private bath. Each guest room (click here for pictures and rates) has unique décor of the 1900's. Large lounge areas are complete with telephone, satellite TV, library and Grandma's collection of approximately 50 years of National Geographic magazines. The open loft above the rooms has a pool table, board games, a kitchenette, and 4 single bunks.
