Introduction
At the turn of the century, when curative mineral baths were in vogue for the elite to enjoy, Hot Springs was the mecca for naturally warm spring water baths.
In early 1891, a site high on a bluff overlooking Hot Springs was selected as the location for the "Sioux City Club"...
... This exclusive men's gaming club featured several elegant suites as well as a two-story octagonal great room topped with a "poker room" offering spectacular views of the city, Fall River, and surrounding mountains.
In the roaring twenties the home was purchased by F.O. Butler, a multimillionaire from Chicago, and converted into a guest house for his many affluent friends.
Some of the original artwork has been preserved, such as the 18-foot hight intricately hand-painted ceiling in the octagonal great room.
The inn has a hot tub and offers on site massage therapy.
Guests are welcome to make themselves at home in any of several common areas. Quiet evenings may be enjoyed on either of the two expansive verandahs. Head up to the original poker room to take in wonderful views in all directions as you unwind on the wicker furniture, play a hand of cards, or work a puzzle. Relax with your favorite book beside the fireplace in the towering great room graced by a magnificent 5-foot chandelier.
The Dream of Wine and Roses Room provides a beautiful view overlooking historic Hot Springs and the surrounding hills. The room has a Queen-sized bed, full bath with antique tub/shower and cable TV. $130
