Nestled among the rolling hills of the family's 60-acre farm, the Inn is surrounded by the majestic Smoky Mountains and their beautiful foothills. The grounds include a lily pond, a picturesque gazebo, and an immaculately kept lawn, landscaped with flowers, trees, and shrubs. Enjoy taking in the scenery from the rocking chairs on the huge wraparound porch or from the porch swing of your private cottage. Old fashioned Southern hospitality and beautiful surroundings distinguish this bed and breakfast. Private baths and special touches, such as old fashioned claw foot tubs, high antique headboards, vintage wardrobes, old photographs, and heirloom quilts give each of the 12 individually decorated guest rooms its own character and appeal. Nestled in the woods behind the Inn are 5 quaint cottages, designed with peaceful, romantic retreats in mind. These cottages have a large bedside Jacuzzi for soaking away stress, a fireplace for heating up hearts, a porch swing for inhaling the natural beauty, and a queen bed to relax body and soul. In the morning the aroma of coffee and bacon summons you to the lace and sun-filled dining room where you find a table heaping with a Tennessee country breakfast. With their rich Appalachian ancestry in mind Sarah and Norman have filled the inn with books, mountain pictures and paintings depicting times gone-by as well as family memorabilia including hand made quilts. You can read about their Blue Mountain Pride in the July/August 1996 Country Inns story titled Tennessee's Appalachian Culture Is Heralded by Two Descendants.
Blue Mountain Mist can also host wedding parties from 2 to 200! Blue Mountain Mist is proud to announce that Country Inns has awarded them the honor of being one of the nation's Top 10 most affordable luxury inns (January 1997 issue).
