Introduction
After spending an exhilarating day on the beach of nearby Assateague Island,
or observing the wildlife along the trails in the National Wildlife Refuge,
it's always a pleasure to come home to Miss Molly's Inn and turn the clock
back to a by-gone era.
This charming Victorian Bay-side home was built in 1886 by Capt. Joe Rowley,
then known as the "Clam King of the World". His daughter Miss Molly, who
was born one year later and became one of the island's best-loved citizens,
lived in the house until the age of 84.
Miss Marguerite Henry stayed with
Miss Molly in 1946 while writing her well-known children's novel "Misty of
Chincoteague". She spent many hours rocking on the front porch, in the
company of Miss Molly and her uncle, Capt. Jack Richardson, working on the
plot of the book.
Three-star rating by Mobil
Today the house has been lovingly restored and offers warm hospitality and
comfortable accommodations to the Island visitor. There are 7 cozy
guestrooms, 5 of which have a private bathroom. The two guestrooms on the
3rd floor share a sitting area and the "world's largest bathroom", making
this floor an excellent space for families and friends.

breezes and the friendly outdoor cats that call Miss Molly's Inn their home.
The nearby Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge and Assateague National Seashore
offer hours of enjoyment for sunbathers, bicyclists, hikers, and
birdwatchers. Miss Molly's provides complimentary bicycles and beach
paraphernalia, including beach umbrellas, for guests' convenience.
A very full breakfast is served each morning - come hungry!
